from february 11 to 17, 2004 i was able to case tokyo, capital of japan, situated on the island honshu.
while i got to enjoy all the special "amenities" of a capsule hotel close to shinjuku station (which is 4100 yen per night and absolutely no yakuza with nasty tatoos. cons: more than a bunch of drunks...), i was even more pleased to enjoy the very special amenities of a yha near sangubashi station (only 3000 yen per night, single rooms guaranteed. cons: community bath tub, sento)
keep in mind: learn all the important kaji beforehand, i.e. for man, woman, toilet, exit)!
visit the edo-tokyo-museum!
go to hakone on a day trip (mount fuji) |
